A special thanks and appreciation to all the folks who have supported La La's Family Home Child Care; and the thousand's of hours La La has spent working on this site over the years to benefit parents with the the information provided here. And to those who have become my extended family, and have blessed me with the opportunity to provide loving care to their most precious children.

Being a mother of five, my main concern has always been proper care for my children in my absence. In today's society, proper care can equate to a "baby sitter". To my surprise however, La La's Childcare is much more than I anticipated. Her prior experience as a teacher clearly has blessed her with the gifts and talents for molding and inspiring our children to learn and feel good about themselves. Those same gifts and talents taught my little Kayden sign language, nursery songs, colors, shapes, and proper manners. The curriculum is very varietal and age-appriorate. Kayden is a extremely intelligent girl and I know that the foundation set @ La La's really jumpstarted her learning abilities and advanced her far beyond anything a traditional "babysitter'" could have done. Unfortunely, our family had to move out of the area and we are at a loss of the "La La experience" but I am thankful for the time we did have there. La La's has definitely set the bar for our next childcare provider and I doubt anyone will ever come close to the loving, compassionate and excellent service she has dedicated her life to providing for every child that comes through her door. Thank you La La for treating Kayden like one of your own.

When we were notified one week before our son was born that he would not be able to attend the daycare provider which had previously accepted our application, we were very fortunate to find La La. La La provided a nurturing environment which we felt went above and beyond traditional in home care. She stimulated him by teaching colors, shapes, working with arts and crafts, listening to classical music, helping him learn sign language and letting him play outside. Even though our son no longer attends La La's, he still asks about her and wants to see his La La.
We would, and have, recommended La La to anyone who wanted to place their child in a caring and nurturing environment, she has truly been, and continues to be a blessing to our family.

We enrolled our daughter at La La’s when she was about 18 months old. We had adopted our child from China only 6 month previously, so had special concerns about her care. Our daughter was very comfortable with La La and always came home clean and happy. I appreciate the fact that La La sent home a child report everyday, something you don’t get at bigger schools. I know it helped ease my mind knowing what/how our daughter was doing during the day. We will continue to recommend La La’s school to parents looking for a safe, clean, nurturing environment.

I moved to Dallas with small children, after researching and visiting several child care establishments I chose La La's childcare. Her warm and friendly demeanor, great location, environment, and curriculum made my decision. She has been very flexible with my work schedule and gone the extra mile to accommodate our family. My son LOVES La La and frequently says her name at home. I am very pleased with everything he is learning at 20 months. It amazes me! I would recommend La La (Susan) to any parent in search for childcare. I go to work and know my son is safe, cared for, loved, and learning!

Our nine month old has been
with La La for two weeks now (having started in March 2008) and we are already seeing an enormous change for
the better in his demeanor, behavior, and development. Initially, we were satisfied with our former day care, which
was the traditional setting with more children.
However, our baby began to catch a new “bug” about every two weeks,
it seemed. After using all of our
vacation and sick days to nurse our baby back to health, my husband and I
decided to try a different, smaller day care setting.
It was our hope that around less children, less germs would be passed.
Not only has Neil been more
healthy and feeling better, there have already been many other pleasing and
rewarding benefits from our decision. We
are thrilled that each day, La La teaches a curriculum introducing colors,
shapes, sounds, animals, music, reading, and more.
In the evenings, we review what he has learned for the day.
It is so nice to read about the activities he was involved in during the
day instead of only seeing what he ate, had a diaper change, and when he took
naps. During Easter week, La La took pictures of him in adorable bunny ears and
made him an Easter basket. They do
finger painting, handprints, and other art projects.
When the weather gets warmer, they will start enjoying walks and playing
outside.
At La La’s, our baby is
getting so much more than he would experience in a larger day care setting.
In fact, when he was at his last day care, it was very noisy with other
children screaming and crying. I
don’t think he napped very well because he was extremely fussy when I picked
him up and he would cry the whole way home.
In just a matter of two weeks, he seems so content and when I pick him
up, he doesn’t cry anymore. Our little boy had also developed some bad habits
at the larger day care like screaming when he didn’t get what he wanted.
I have noticed that this has stopped since he has been with La La.
He is gaining more confidence each day and learning that he is capable of
doing things successfully. He is
able to concentrate on tasks without so much noise and so many distractions.
Now, he has almost mastered crawling and learning to stand with the help of
objects around him. At La La’s,
the setting is a beautiful home with large windows that reveal a colorful
background of trees, birds, and flowers.
It has been quite a relief to
know that our baby is in excellent hands while we are at work.
The fact that La La is a certified teacher with her master’s degree was
huge in our decision, but the loving care that he receives means so much to us,
now. We have enjoyed our son more
lately because he’s been very playful and happy.
My husband and I are grateful for our decision in “upgrading” our
son’s daily care. Although we
don’t pay more than we did at the larger day care, the benefits are far more
and our child is much happier. My only regret is that we didn’t start sooner with La
La’s day care.

Our daughter has been at La La’s since she was seven weeks old. The minute we met with Susan and learned of her philosophy about infant and early childhood education, we were sold. Susan stimulates infants and the young children in her care with appropriate curriculum including games, music, vocabulary and lots of love and affection.
Out daughter has blended seamlessly with the other children at La Las and we feel very fortunate to have found such a competent caregiver and educator.

As first time parents, my husband and I were so nervous about leaving Andrew with anyone. When we met with Susan, we noticed the clean house, nice set-up (very homey), great backyard and all of Susan's credentials! I was so impressed and then reading through the handbook I really liked how organized and appreciated her philosophies.
Then Andrew started going to La La's. On his first day I knew that it was going to be ok as Susan picked up Andrew and just snuggled him up to her. Beyond the credentials and the clean house was someone that would love and care for my child. It was a homey environment and at the end of the day she would communicate the feeds, the mood, diapers. Andrew never cried about being left and was always clean and calm when we picked him up.
We never worried about Andrew at La La's and appreciated all the care that he received there!

After our first child was born, my wife and I struggled to find childcare that was not only affordable, but with someone that we could trust with the care and well-being of our adorable son. After spending countless hours calling and interviewing scores of caregivers, we met Susan VanDyke of La La's. A mother herself, Susan gave my wife and I the security and comfort that we were looking for and began caring for our son the following week. The wonderful care offered not only to us, but to all of the other children at La La's continued for over one year. We would recommend La La's to anyone looking for quality loving childcare.

Dropping our child off at La La's has the total feel of taking her to Grandma's house. We are extremely pleased with the care she provides and the love she has for our daughter. We feel very blessed to have found La La!

When
our daughter started coming to La La’s she had been taken care of by only one
person and had expressed high amounts of separation anxiety. We wanted our
daughter to have the opportunity to learn and play with other children in a
comforting environment and a coworker had suggested La La’s. Our
daughter now demonstrates that she wants to come to play at La La’s (she leans
over to allow La La to pick her up when I drop her off in the morning) and this
is a big step for her. Over the past few months, our daughter has gone from
crawling to walking, initiating playing independently and with others and even
dancing to music. I know that she will continue to build on the
educational and fun things she has learned at La La’s.
